On about April 19th 2002 SOMEONE hacked into the old guestbooks and DELETED them. What they deleted was over 500 DEATH and ADDICTION stories relating directly to OXYCONTIN. They also deleted over 100 stories from people who are legitimate patients and most of them need oxycontin for their SEVERE PAIN. I apologize to anyone who took the time to share their stories to HELP warn others. Those guestbooks were somehow a comfort to all who have been affected by this ABUSE epidemic. Please if you are looking for your story then REPOST it. I'm sad to say but by the amount of email I am receiving these guestbook's will rapidly rebuild their SAD tales BUT people need to be warned as to the power of this drug and the deadly consequences when ABUSED.
Please read the other stories and add yours to our guestbook...

My son Shane died on May 09, 2002,from an accidental overdose of OxyContin, he would have celebrated his 21st Birthday on May 16th. Shane had struggled with abuse of pain killers over the past two years. He was attending a rehab program and taking classes, he was happier and more positive than anyone had seen him in some time. The story is that he had not used in a few weeks, he was sought out by a man who was not his peer. This man is older than I am, he had got his prescription filled and called around looking for Shane. I know Shane took the drug willingly but really how much will did he have? I buried my son two days before his 21st Birthday, never as a parent do we think that we will bury our child...it's not a natural process. My heart is irrepairably broken, the loss is unimaginable. I was blessed by Shane he taught me strength, compassion, and understanding. I am proud to have been his Mother, there is no shame, no embarasssment. No matter what his choices I loved him anyway. The abuse of this drug has taken away my son,who was a brother, an uncle, a grandson, a nephew, and a wonderful friend to many. We miss him so much... Shane's Mom

A beautiful young 18 year old girl, whom my son once dated..died from oxy overdose. I was so shocked by her death. She was an honor student and had a scholorship to college..but only a few months away from graduation her family was planning a funeral instead of a party. I still look at her picture sitting on my table..and wonder WHY WHY WHY...The tragedy does not end here...2 days after her death ..her present boyfriend shot himself..because he blamed himself for her death. Rumor has it he supplied her with the deadly drug. PLEASE>>>>>>>DO NOT USE THIS DRUG>>>NO HIGH IS WORTH YOUR LIFE and the pain an suffering your family and friends will go through. SARA...I miss you so much...your smiled..lit up the whole room when you walked in..what a shame that such a beautiful young lady so full of life and so much going for her had to be taken away at such a young age....YOU WILL BE IN MY HEART FOREVER ....and like the song the played at your funeral>>EVERY BREATH I TAKE I'LL BE MISSING YOU....

Hi Ed... I seem to remember signing this same book a few weeks ago, but maybe I didn't...Might be DeJevu for all I know...See what to much coffee does? Anyway I'm glad to see you heading the way you are and hope you save even one life and you will have won a small, but important battle...On the same hand I hope you never become a pawn in the War on Drugs being waged by power brokers and drug dealers on the American public. Keep up the good work Ed... Marty www.recoveryboard.com
